Beth A. Leydon, MS, LMFT

I have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1988. I work with individuals, couples and older teens. My basic orientation and training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, I am a student of mindfulness and somatic approaches including Internal Family Systems. Despite any theoretical orientation, we know that it is the nature of the therapeutic relationship that is of utmost importance. Trust, connection and a true attunement are critical for success in therapy. I strive to create a safe environment where one can explore the deeper nature of their life and problems.

Some clients may have medical insurance that covers psychotherapy. I am a network provider for many different insurance companies. It's best to check by calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card. Please be aware of the following:

  • Covered services must be "medically necessary."

  • The client must be experiencing symptoms consistent with a mental health diagnosis.

  • The content of the services are confidential, but the dates of service and diagnosis become part of the client's medical record.

Even if you have insurance coverage, you are not mandated to use it to pay for services.

The therapeutic relationship is protected by laws of confidentiality. There are a few exceptions where confidentiality may not apply:

  • Situations involving dangerousness; suicidality and impulses to harm others
  • Child abuse or neglect
  • Elder abuse
